For years I have said you can choose your friends but you can’t choose your family. Those words have shaped the relationships I have had over the years and formed incredible bonds, some of which I still treasure today.
The most important thing to me is that my friends do not all look like me or sound like me. Variety is the spice of life and I want the full fucking taste. Its not easy to have friendships with people that fundamentally think and believe differently, it’s very difficult, but some of them are the most rewarding of them all. They stretch you, mold you, and shape you and it’s different as time moves down the line. As I age, those relationships change just as much as I do.
